Freeway of LA
As mentioned in the article, the highway in Los Angeles which is known as the freeway is one of the unusual highways which can be seen. Just like when someone says about the Eiffel tower, Paris might come into people's thoughts. When someone mentions Los Angeles, this freeway will come into people’s thoughts. As a highway, there are several lanes and it is one of the most important roads in LA as everyone needs to use that to travel from one place to another. Even though it is a highway, it is quite rare to see the traffic jams and not only about the jams but also a lot of art-works such as imported dream cars and their own customized cars can be seen as people are driving on the highway. Sometimes, a lot of mobile home can be seen on the freeway as people do not want to waste their time on the road traveling. As people driving on the highway, when we have to choose the lane whether to go left or right we tend to slow our cars down a bit to read the sign, which makes the jam to happen but in this highway, a large sign has been placed so that drivers can have a clear vision on the sigh and have enough time to change lane without slowing down. Even tho there are a lot of highways in LA, a lot of more other useful streets can be found which are being used as secondary road or all those streets are being connected to the highways
Just like this is a well-developed city, and a lot of people have been using cars simultaneously. The air pollution in the city is quite bad. There are even some articles suggesting people should move away from the freeway as traffic pollutions can cause cancer, heart attack, and other health problems.
Pura Tanjung Sabtu & River
On the other side, which we can relate to the case study we did, which is based on Pura Tanjung Sabtu. This may be a different environment with the freeway of LA. but on the other hand, the ideation behind is almost the same. In the earlier paragraph, it was mentioned that the highways in La are a lot more convenient and comfortable to use. As for here is, it would the existing river near the Pura Tanjung Sabtu. The river is the main water body surrounding there which is the main transportation near there as it can even reach the ocean. Even tho the river width is considered short, it is more than enough for the boats to travel. The surrounding area has been plantation area for a long time and they have been using the water from the river. And people have been using the river not only to transport the goods but also people to travel to other villages around and to the market which is the furthest place from our site or some other main places around the Kuala Terengganu. On the side of the river, u may be able to see natural elements such as trees and some village houses, mosques and also the wooden ship ports. The journey from the site to the market may be long but just like on the freeway, it is way more convenient and we can also see the beauty of nature at the same time.
The environment and situations may be different, but when we look more detail into the matter, the purpose and idea behind are resembling each other.
